Liz/Iz Ross

I’m Liz/Iz Ross (she/they) a queer pansexual artist with a disability in the Central, TX area. I’m the co-founder and Executive Director of award winning TUBU Fest (Theatre for Us By Us) disability short fringe theatre festival. I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, moved to Bangkok, Thailand where I was a child model, then lived in Quito, Ecuador for 6 months, followed by 6 months in Holland before relocating to Abilene, TX for 3 years and then Austin, TX when I was 8 years old. I’m very passionate about travel, cultural exchange, languages, equality, accessibility, and theatre. I absolutely adore learning and take classes/certifications regularly.

My undergrad is a BFA in theatre performance and production from Texas State University with a minor in Creative Writing. I have a Masters of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Specialization from AOMA Graduate School of Herbal Medicine. I am currently pursuing an ASL certification from ACC. I plan to get trained in audio description at my next available opportunity. I deeply loved producing and hosting ‘The Sex Ed Show’ on 91.7 FM KOOP Radio for 5 years and being a Board Member for 6 years.

I write, produce and direct original works. I think it is critical to the arts to support new works especially by oppressed and underserved communities. We have to lift one another up in order to rise together. I love acting and finding characters who represent the stories I’m presented with whether it’s an alien from outer space (college performance) or a historical character (Waiting for the Bus) or an AI Robot (VO in Wasteland 3).
